FAQ

Outdoor lighting questions answered

How long do landscape lights last in Florida's weather?

Florida's heat, humidity, UV exposure, and heavy rainfall are hard on lighting fixtures, which is exactly why we only install commercial-grade products. Lower-quality consumer fixtures can degrade significantly within 2–3 years in this climate. Quality commercial-grade fixtures with proper installation typically last 10–15+ years. All fixtures we install carry manufacturer warranties, giving you protection if there are any defects in materials or performance.

What's the difference between low voltage and line voltage landscape lighting?

Low voltage lighting runs on 12 volts via a transformer and is the most common choice for residential landscape lighting, it's energy-efficient, safer to work around, and easier to install and modify. Line voltage runs on standard 120-volt household current and is typically used for pole lighting, security lighting, and higher-output applications. Both have their place, and many properties benefit from a combination of the two. We design the right system for your specific goals and property layout.

Do you provide ongoing maintenance for landscape lighting?

Yes. We offer maintenance services for lighting systems we install, including bulb replacement, fixture adjustment, timer reprogramming, and troubleshooting. We can also evaluate and service existing lighting systems installed by others. Lighting systems in Florida benefit from periodic checkups to ensure fixtures haven't shifted, connections haven't corroded, and timers are adjusted for seasonal daylight changes.

Can you add outdoor lighting to my existing landscape?

Absolutely. Adding landscape lighting to an established property is one of the most impactful improvements you can make. We'll assess your existing landscape, identify the features worth highlighting, and design a custom lighting plan that works with what's already there. Whether you want to add a few accent lights or transform the entire property with a full lighting design, we can scope and build a system that fits your budget and goals.
